Two quilts...Same pattern...two fabric color ways!

Hello Quilty Friends!

This post is a little different.....I will be sharing pics of two quilts both made using the same "Japanese Fan" pattern by Quiltworx.com.  Both of the quilts are stunning, one is bold colors with beautiful red, black and creams.....then the softer beautiful quilt in creams and green fabrics.

By showing both quilts in one post, I hope that you will see how fabric choices can totally change how a quilt will turn out. Whether you like soft fabric colors or you rather have bold fabrics, you are going to love this post!

The red, black and cream fabric quilt was pieced by my friend, Lucille Amos, who is a CI for Quiltworx/Judy Neimeyer.  Lucille is a great instructor, she even took my dislike of paper piecing away.  Now, I am hooked for sure. I have pieced several Quiltworx patterns now, myself. (I will share those on another post one day)
Sorry this pic is a little blurry.

I had fun making circles in this area. Using rulers are so much fun. (I will share my ruler wall in another post along with some of my favorites and why)

Of course, I had to add in some feathers.  That little curved area was screaming feathers to me.

The cream and green quilt was pieced by a quilt client named Phyllis G. It looks like a totally different quilt, doesn't it? Nope, same Japanese Fan pattern!

I went with the circles again in that one area.  Only changed the distance between the circles a little.

I also love crosshatch! And in a curve, it is beautiful! It really added to this quilt.

I sure hope that you have enjoyed seeing...two quilts...same pattern.....two fabric color ways!
I am usually a bold quilt colors kinda girl. Red is actually my favorite color, but these quilts have me stumped. I love them both and just can not choose which one I love best.

I love how both of these quilts turned out. I am happy and had fun quilting them both....and that my "quilty friends" is wha it is all about!

Happy Quilting!
Gina
